Wedding Poem

ORDAINED BY GOD

For years we waited on the Lord

Our trust in him complete

Knowing that in God’s own time

He would send us a helpmeet

Then God brought us together

And with each test and trial

Our love came forth as pure gold

Because we knew all the while

That if we delighted ourselves in the Lord

He’d give us the desires of our heart

And that if we waited patiently on Him

A special blessing he would impart

And so God ordained our union

Today we become husband and wife

Join with us in praising God

As we begin our new life

50th Wedding Anniversary Poem

A Love More Precious Than Gold

Our love is truer than the vows we made

So many years ago

Our love has stood through things that

Only the two of us will ever know

Our love took us through the death

Of both of our parents and one child

Our love plus the love of God

Is how we both survived

Our love has lasted longer than

Some lifetimes, yes, it’s true

We raised four beautiful daughters

Today we have grands and great-grands too

Our love is more precious than

The fifty years we celebrate

It’s stronger and it’s worth more

Than real gold is today

If you’re wondering how we found a love

So real, so true, and so blessed

Our love was born from the love of God

That’s the secret of our success.

  Funeral/Home Going Poem

   IF I COULD HELP SOMBODY

If I could help somebody

Whether family neighbor or friend

God blessed me to do it

Until the very end

If I could help somebody

With encouragement, money, or advice

I was happy and willing to do it

I didn’t mind the sacrifice

I didn’t mind because I loved you

You were all very special to me

Everyone I met knew how proud

I was of all my family

The years we had were good ones

Full of good times and memories

Trips up and down the highways

And wonderful family gatherings

If I could help somebody I did

And I enjoyed every minute of it all

I was blessed to be a blessing

Until I answered my Father’s call

  Love Poem

YOU ARE

You are one million beautiful things

all rolled into one

at night you are my moonlight

in the day your are my sun

You're someone I can talk to

any time and any where

you are my best friend because

I know you really care

You have the nack for making me

feel like someone worthwhile

whenever I'm down one of the few things

that lifts me is your smile

You are all of this to me and more

I hope we never part

but even if we do, we won't

because you are my heart

Inspirational Poems

THE DOOR

I opened a door once in my life,

and boldly I stepped in,
Waiting on the other side for me,

were pleasures wrapped in sin.

From room to room for several years,

I roamed each wicked floor,

Until I heard Jesus calling me,

from the other side of the door.

He beckoned me through each hallway,

past each room that I had tried,

Ever sweetly calling my name,

until I made it safely back outside.

Only to discover another door,

where Jesus stood waiting for me,

Sure of His love, I stepped through,

His  door to eternity.

THANK YOU

Thank you, Blood of Jesus,

that cleansed me through and through,

Thank you Holy Spirit,

deep within me, tried and true.

Thank you Jesus, my Savior,

deliverer of my soul,

For anointing me with your power,

to face temptations bold.

Thank you God, for proving once again,

that you are always near,

Waiting to give me the strength I need,

when my humble cry you hear.

Thank you Lord, my Messiah come,

these words can't fully express,

My thanks, my praise, and my gratefulness,

for a life so full and blessed.

I PRAY TO GOD FOR YOU

As you read these poems,

Each verse and every line,
I pray to God you're granted,

A special peace of mind.

I pray each poem uplifts you,

Just like they uplift me,
I pray that you're encouraged,

To trust God and believe.

I pray each printed poem,

Leads you to God's printed word;
And that as you read the scriptures,

Somehow God's voice is heard.

I pray for your salvation,

That in your life God's will be done,
And that you'll find the joy I've found,

In Jesus Christ, God's son.
